RYE&CO steakhouse at Xintiandi Plaza has an amazing steak deal all throughout January. They’re saying farewell to the Year of the Ox by doing a 50% off on a 1kg rib-eye.
What!
The prized cut of meat in question is a 1kg USDA PRIME bone-in rib-eye steak. It’s going for ¥488 (originally priced at ¥988), available throughout January, every day, all day.
Steak Deal of the Year
RYE&CO steakhouse actually went through a bit of a refurb not too long ago. The first floor is more of a lounge area, and there’s a large private room for 10 behind the bar. Upstairs, it’s all open seating with one large round table for 8 people. There’s also a rooftop space.
The food is classic American steakhouse fare. Today’s purpose is to highlight this crazy good deal they have: ¥488 for a 1kg US Prime bone-in rib-eye, available throughout January.
The steak is cooked the Peter Luger way, which is, to crust it in salt and cook it under the broiler on high heat with sizzling butter. The salt crust is removed, the beef is removed from the bone and sliced, and placed back onto the grill for a final char.
It’s a hefty, flavorful cut of meat. I don’t doubt that there’s someone out there who could polish off the entire thing on their own…but this is good for 2-3 to share with sides.
The steak comes served with a choice of one house sauce. You also get complimentary table bread and butter. I highly recommend getting some side dishes to accompany the steak.
I went for dinner on the first Friday the deal launched. The dining room filled up pretty quickly from 7pm. Bookings definitely recommended!
Note: The upper floor dining room is only open from 5:30pm.
