Rou Rou Da Mi (肉肉大米) is a fast casual Japanese concept that does one thing, but does it well: hamburger rice. Beef patties are ground fresh daily, fried on a griddle, and served atop rice with unlimited rice and sides of daily soup and vegetables. Each dining spot is also equipped with a mini-griddle, where you can cook the patty to your preferred doneness. The concept is most certainly borrowed from Japan, where popular chains serve hamburger rice the same way. But when Rou Rou Da Mi opened in Shanghai in 2022, it sure made a splash. Multiple locations in Shanghai, but Metro City was their first stop, and is also the busiest location.
