The Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai is celebrating Christmas in a big way this year, rolling out the red carpet for the bauble-filled red and green season.
Highlights include a lavish 7-course dinner at Jade on 36 Restaurant, a celebration package of seafood tower and champagne at Jade on 36 Bar, and a festive buffet spread at YICAFE.
Oh, and they have an advent calendar loaded with night stay prizes.
Christmas at Jade on 36 Restaurant
First off, if you’re looking to celebrate Christmas with flair, head to Jade on 36 Restaurant for a 7-course dinner set menu for ¥988 per person from December 23 to 26. A luxurious dinner in an elegant setting with the Lujiazui skyline and Bund river view as the backdrop.
The dinner also offers wine pairing, ¥488 or ¥888. All prices listed above are subject to service charge and prevailing government taxes.
Dinner starts off with a flurry of playful amuse bouche bites, freshly baked bread and house butters, and a cold tomato and roasted pepper.
It’s followed by courses of salmon gravlax, fresh scallop with bone marrow, lobster bisque with chestnut ragout, grilled foie gras, mains of flounder with river shrimp or New Zealand venison loin or dry-aged beef sirloin or tenderloin, desserts of piña colada and Cohiba smoked chocolate “cigar”, and finally, petit fours.
It ends with petit fours of chocolates and cheese.
Festive Brunch at Jade on 36 Restaurant
Jade on 36 Restaurant will also be serving a festive brunch, every Saturday and Sunday in December. Brunch is ¥698 per person from December 2-17, ¥888 from December 23-24, December 30 and January 1.
Celebrations at Jade on 36 Bar
Next door, Jade on 36 Bar has been decked out in festive fashion with hundreds of Christmas baubles.
To celebrate the season, the bar has a package deal of a fully loaded seafood tower with choice of champagne, whisky, or other spirit. The seafood tower includes a whole Boston lobster, half a dozen oysters, freshly cooked jumbo prawns, conch, and clams, served over ice. The tower also comes with blinis and croutons, cocktail sauce, thousand island sauce, and garlic aioli. The Celebration Package is ¥1,588 from now until January 1, 2024.
Jade on 36 also has some Christmas cocktails, ¥118 each. In addition, they have a Christmas afternoon tea set, ¥688 for two, includes two glasses of champagne.
Christmas at YICAFE
YICAFE will be serving a festive Sunday brunch buffet throughout December for ¥588 per person, including free-flow house wine and beer.
They’ll also be serving a Christmas brunch buffet from December 23 to 25, also ¥588 per person inclusive of free-flow house wine, beer, and mulled wine. Christmas dinner buffet will also be served from December 23 to 25, ¥688 per person with free-flow.
Advent Calendar & Photo Ops
Be sure to stop by the lobby floor at the Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai for some fantastic photo ops with their Christmas set up.
