Yaya’s is a creative pasta house serving up (mostly) fresh-made pastas with a Chinese spin. The food, as they so boldly put it, is “not like your nonna’s” cooking. They combine Chinese ingredients with al dente pasta, borrowing from popular Chinese regional dishes and flavors to mix and match. The mapo tofu lasagna is the ne plus ultra of their concept. It’s a small and cozy restaurant with a bar counter overlooking the open kitchen. Interiors are hip and trendy with neon signage and an industrial finish. There is also an outdoor seating area.
