Yu Du Lao Wei Noodle Shop (渔都老味面) (Liyuan Road)
Yu Du Lao Wei (渔都老味面) is a decade-old noodle shop known for their yellow croaker noodles. According to the Michelin Guide, the owner hails from Zhoushan, a city in Zhejiang near the Yangtze River estuary known for its seafood. To emphasize the fresh seafood, Yu Du Lao Wei has a small selection on display at the counter, including shellfish, squid, fish, and other cooked noodle toppings.
Yellow Croaker Noodles (酱烧黄鱼面) are served dry or with soup. The biggest difference between Yu Du Lao Wei and A Niang is that here, the yellow croaker fillets are much larger and are braised. You can also choose the type of noodles, thick or regular wheat flour noodles, thin rice noodles, and rice cake. They have a bunch of other noodles with prawns, clams, beef, etc., as well as stir-fried seafood and whole fish. Another signature noodle dish is the braised belt fish noodle (金牌剔骨带鱼面), and you can get just the fish a la carte.
The Liyuan Road location was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2024 Guide.
