When Mars Meets Venus: New Year’s Eve Countdown

The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai is throwing a galactic-themed New Year’s Eve countdown party — When Mars Meets Venus — at The Ritz Bar & Lounge.

The Ritz Bar & Lounge will be transformed into the terrestrial planets of Mars and Venus, bringing The Red Planet and The Morning Star right down to Earth.

To amp up the evening’s revelry, a host of entertainers will orbit throughout the space and dazzle with performances, while a crew of DJs spin tunes to fly you to the moon.

DJs Dora, Olivia, Louisa, Big Mac, and Nikki will have you blasting off and floating off in space from launch time at 9pm.

Catch a shooting star! The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai will also be giving away four amazing prizes on the night including night stays, champagne, and more. Winning a one night stay isn’t the same as walking on the moon, but it’s pretty darn great.

Libations for the evening come in a few packages, including 5-hour free-flow. The following are for standing-only.

Entry level early-bird tickets are ¥388, available for purchase until December 22. Regular tickets are ¥588, purchased online or at the door. Includes entry plus free-flow house red and white wine, Tanqueray Gin, and Kettle One Vodka. Unlimited drinks from 9pm until 2am.

Add free-flow Moet & Chandon Brut NV champagne to the above for ¥788 (early-bird), ¥1,088 regular.

Table packages start at ¥6,888 for four people, which includes a buffet dinner for four at Portman’s Restaurant before the festivities begin, a reserved table for four at The Ritz Bar & Lounge with one bottle of Moet Chandon Brut NV, one bottle of Don Julio 1942, and a charcuterie and cheese platter.

Or you can get the ¥5,888 package for six people, which includes a reserved table at The Ritz Bar & Lounge, 3 bottles of Moet Chandon Brut NV, 2 bottles of spirits (Ketel One, Tanqueray Gin, Don Julio, Singleton 12 Years, or Zacapa 23), 12 soft drink mixers, and a charcuterie and cheese platter.
