Lotus Eatery is an excellent Yunnan restaurant in Shanghai that does delicious food at honest prices. It is an extremely popular restaurant favored by both locals and expats. Any expat that’s lived in Shanghai for longer than three years has likely been here! It’s a casual restaurant with a couple of private rooms and a patio with outdoor seating. Service is frenetic, but friendly. Popular dishes include pan-fried goat cheese, spicy black chicken salad, minced beef, crispy red kidney beans, whole fish, and Yunnan mushrooms. Cheap and cheerful.
