Ochiyo

Ochiyo (御千代·鮨) is high-caliber Japanese omakase restaurant in Shanghai led by chef-founder Sun-San. Every omakase meal is different, as Sun-San sources (even imports his own) seasonal ingredients from all over, featuring baby eels (only available for a couple weeks) to whole slabs of top-grade whole tuna fish. He does a form of Kaiseki, a multi-course meal of not only sushi and sashimi, but also amuse bouche, soups, grilled and simmered dishes, tempura, etc.

Ochiyo moved from its original lane house location to Kaixuan Road in February 2025. As of 2025, lunch is ¥680 and dinner is ¥1,280 per person.

Sun-San also operates Sushi Brother, a casual sushi bar, and Uni Shushi, an affordable omakase restaurant.
