Self-touted as one of “Shanghai’s best-kept secrets”, Terrace 8 was previously open to hotel residents and for private events like wedding receptions. (The terrace is still available for private events.)

Now it’s been spruced up and open to the public with cushioned lawn chairs and patio umbrellas courtesy of Moët & Chandon sprawled across meticulously trimmed lawn.

Early evening on the terrace is chill and usually with a bit of a breeze. As the sun sets, they have a DJ to provide music entertainment.

The Deal: Free-Flow Bubbles & Food

Terrace 8 serves a curated menu of global tapas by Executive Chef Fabio Pineda, and libations of champagne, wine and beers, as well as cocktails courtesy of resident mixologist Tural Hasanov.

But if we’re being honest, you are there for the free-flow champagne. It’s ¥688 per person for FIVE HOURS of unlimited Moët & Chandon champagne, red and white wine, and beer.

They also have other packages like a bottle of champers and an antipasti cheese platter for ¥838 and a dozen bottles of beer for ¥228; cocktail of the month is ¥108 and wines by the glass from ¥88.

Again, you’d rather the free-flow, no?

Food is a spread of Spanish, Asian and Middle-Eastern tapas—something for everyone. Some of the items include Bocadillas, Tortilla Espanola, Hummus, Chicken Liver Parfait, Sichuan infused chicken, Albondigas, Thai Spiced Fish Cakes, and Classic Chicken Satay.

Terrace 8 is currently open from Thursday to Saturday from 5:30pm to 10:30pm.

You do not need to buy the free-flow package to enjoy the terrace. Food and drink is available by the glass or la carte. The terrace is also kid-friendly.
