Bar Opia

Bar Opia is a cocktail bar located within the same space as contemporary Chinese restaurant Atelier Kau Lou on Fumin Lu. Not fully separated from the dining room, but set apart enough to stay out of the main view on entry, it centers on a massive sunken bar — a setup unlike anything else in Shanghai, with drinkers perched above looking down into the bar below. The bar program is led by Matthew Hall, previously of Upper House Shanghai and Hakkasan.
