The last time I wrote about Homeslice, I did a Pork Satay Pizza as part of their seasonal guest chef pizzas.

As always, Homeslice donates 10% of all revenue from the guest chef pizza to Stepping Stones, an amazing charity that helps provide English education and other support to the children of migrant workers in and around Shanghai.

And thanks to Homeslice, the Pork Satay Pizza managed to raise ¥19,000 for Stepping Stones! Homeslice has raised over ¥200,000 for the charity since they started this program. Major kudos to my favorite pizza place.

Oh, and a bit of pizza news: Also, Homeslice is expanding to Pudong, and will open an outpost near Century Park by early October.

Summer 2021 | 3 New Pizzas at Homeslice

It’s been a while since the last Homeslice update, so here it is—new Summer 2021 pizzas. And yes, there is a new guest chef pizza!

This season’s guest chef pizza is by Ramon Verano, who recently took charge of Mikkeller’s kitchen, previously at Tomatito. Ramon’s pizza is a riff on the popular Chinese noodle dish Zhajiang Mian. The Zhajiang Pizza has a sauce made with yellow bean and sweet noodle sauces, garlic, ginger, cassia and star anise. It’s then topped with pork mince cooked with the same seasonings and then finished with raw cucumber and carrot shreds.

Zhajiang Mian

Then you have the White Artichoke pizza, topped with artichokes marinated in herb and lemon peel infused extra-virgin olive oil, roasted cherry tomatoes, and finished with parsley and lemon zest. (One of my favorite white pizzas to date.)

White Artichoke

Finally, you have the Supa Dupa Cheese. It takes one of Homeslice’s oldest specials, Supercheese and turns the cheese volume dial up to 11. It’s topped with Italian fontina provolone piccante, house-made ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, and fresh basil.
