The Cannery is shutting its doors… for now.

Shanghai’s beloved Pacific Northwest restaurant and bar will serve its last meal at its Yuyuan Lu home on Thursday, August 6.
After a decade of roast salmon, blowout brunches, bloc parties, oyster deals, and plenty of doggy day-outs, The Cannery is looking for a new home to roost.

Founder Mark Klingspon confirmed the move, with plans to reopen in a new location as soon as possible — though nothing’s set in stone just yet.
“We opened 10 years ago, when such a big venue was kinda cool. And we created a bit of a destination, sprawling out onto the lawn. A lot of super special memories and nostalgia from the past 10 years. But, with the changes in the overall market and specifically on Yuyuan Lu, we want to refine our concept a bit – right size, right location – plus, bring back our special salmon firepit and a few other new surprises,” said Klingspon.

The Cannery will be doing their ‘Black Friday bottle blow-out’ from July 31 to August 6 — half price on all bottles. And this time everything really must go.

The last brunch service is this weekend, August 1 and 2.
Go have your last brunch, your last bourbon cocktail, your last salmon plate — they’ll be gone for a bit, but hopefully not for long.
