The creators of JUST Egg have just built a pop-up kitchen, Future Food Studio, for free cooking classes at the Jing An Kerry Centre Piazza.

The Future Food Studio is a pretty impressive setup for something that was assembled in five days—mobile cooking stations, high tech digital boards and a herb garden. It’s all part of their month-long residency to give plant-based and JUST fans, and product-curious foodies a chance to cook with JUST Egg.

About — What is JUST Egg?

If you haven’t heard, JUST Egg is a plant-based alternative to eggs. It is made with mung beans, legumes that are high in protein. It has roughly the same amount of protein as a regular egg, but it’s cholesterol-free. And it’s pretty filling—there are about eight eggs worth in a 355ml bottle.

If you’re allergic to eggs, eating consciously, or want to consume less meat-based products, this is for you.

The Future Food Studio by Eat Just is a culinary studio where you can learn how to cook plant-based dishes with JUST Egg, led by a roster of talented Shanghai-based chefs.

Chef Jonathan He

I went for chef Jonathan He’s class, okonomiyaki and omelet. These are simple recipes that you can recreate at home, and if you haven’t tried the product before, it’s a good introduction to how to best cook it. Plus, you get to eat your creation afterwards and take whatever leftovers home.

Omelet

It’s also about the experience itself. There are few cooking classes available in Shanghai, and even fewer focusing on plant-based meals. If anything, what JUST Egg is doing at Future Food Studio is sparking conversation, feeding creativity, and giving us something new and interesting to do.
