The Highest Rooftop Bar in Shanghai
Located on the 58th floor of The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, FLAIR is one of the highest rooftop bars in the world and the highest in Shanghai. The enthralling view of the Oriental Pearl Tower and the rare panorama of the Bund and meandering Huangpu River is iconic, and one of the venue’s biggest draws.
Taking up the entire floor, FLAIR is a spacious venue with two bars, dining and lounge seating, an amphitheater-like split-level terrace, and a private room. The dining room and bar glimmers with metal latticework framed against wood and stone foundations, and glow with warm earth tones and orange-blue hues of the sunset and skyline.
Every seat in the house has a line of sight to the view. It’s a stylish, sleek destination to be proud of.
Take a moment to marvel at the terrace:
This will be the destination for champagne brunches, afternoon tea, business dealings, and romantic dinners, as well as a must-do for photo-ops for tourists and residents alike.
Plans for events and parties are underway. Expect variations on themed parties with headlining DJs and guest chefs and bartenders. The grand opening party is scheduled for mid-March.
An Asian-Inspired Menu
Food and drink FLAIR is Asian-inspired. The food menu, courtesy of Malaysian Chef Simone Yapp, borrows from the colorful cuisines of Asia, spanning influences from Singapore to India.
There are bar snacks, comforting dishes like Penang-style fried noodles, sushi and sashimi, skewers, steaks, and spice-rich seafood entrées.
The Drinks
As for the drinks, FLAIR has a dozen signature cocktails (from ¥138) in addition to classic cocktails, a wide selection of premium spirits from scotch to mezcal, as well as wines, champagne, and sakes.
Signature cocktails are also inspired by the Asian theme and incorporate fresh citrus, tropical fruits, Chinese spices, shochus, and teas. Heading up the drinks program is award-winning Bar Manager Ming Liao from Taiwan, China.
In addition, FLAIR also has house-commissioned Sunset Gin, an ode to the glorious sunset view. The spirit blends kaffir leaves, calamansi, aged orange peel, green tea, and angelica root, resulting in a bright, refreshing base for a gin & tonic.
Afternoon Tea
FLAIR also has a weekend afternoon tea, available Saturday and Sunday from 2pm-4:30pm.
The afternoon tea set for two is ¥598, includes two coffees, teas, or mocktails. Savory and sweet bites include yellowtail nigiri, sweet corn korokke, crabmeat spring roll, meatballs with mango salsa, scallop with sakura shrimp, mint sorbet, matcha fig charlottes, rice mousse, and pistachio tart.
