Christkindlmarkt on the Bund
The German Christkindlmarkt is in full swing at the Bund! As the biggest Christmas market in Shanghai, it’s back again, hosting more than 45 vendors selling food, drink, and festive gifts.
Food offerings include German sausages, raclette, pizza, sandwiches, hot chocolate, pancakes, ice cream, jumbo-sized candyfloss, soufflé, donuts, cocktails, and more. In addition to the landmark carousel, the booths are even more fabulous than last year — Kasteel beer built itself a castle, Oishi has a Christmas elf house, and Ritter Sport has a cozy cabin.
For the kids, on weekends from 1-6pm and on Dec 25 & Dec 26 from 4-8pm, Santa and his elves will make an appearance for photo ops.
The German Christkindlmarkt is a pet-friendly venue; only small and medium-sized dogs are allowed; no large dogs.
It runs daily until December 28, except on Mondays and Tuesdays. Entry is ¥30 for pre-sale tickets, ¥40 at the door, and free for kids under 1.3-meters. It is highly recommended to purchase tickets in advance in case of capacity limits.

BFC – Pokémon, Food Street, Ice Skating
Last year, BFC did Harry Potter, and this year, it’s Pokémon! The setup is complete with Pokémon-themed Christmas trees, a Snorlax ball pit for the kids, and a limited edition merch kiosk. Relive the late 90s and pass the fun onto the next generation with Pokémon GO. If you’re looking for a Christmas market in Shanghai that’s multi-purpose, this is it.
For food and drink, BFC will be hosting a Christmas market with more than 60 vendors on Dec 6 & 7, following up with two weekends of Dianping’s Must-Eat List Market on Dec 20 & 21 and 27 & 28. Come Dec 13 & 14, BFC will be hosting a Christmas Pet Bazaar, featuring 40+ pet-friendly brands.
BFC also has an ice skating rink, which will be open until March 1 from 10am to 10pm. Ice skating tickets are ¥39.9 per person or ¥59.9 for two, for a maximum 90-minute session, and can be purchased via the BFC Club mini-program.

Jing An Kerry Centre Swirling Karneval
Jing An Kerry Centre is hosting a Swirling Karneval themed Christmas market from December 5 until January 1, open daily from 11am to 10pm. Free entry!
The market will see more than 20 food, drink, and lifestyle vendors, including Jing An Shangri-La, Shanghai, Honglou Gelato, Waffle Bus, Xinyi Dorayaki Lab, OK! Doggie, Mr. Churro, Jim Beam, Lispo, 28 Aout, Cooperland, and more. Expect Christmas themed foods and winter warmers.
In addition, Swirling Karneval will host more than 180+ performances throughout the event, including live performances of band, choir, and folk music, elf parades, and more. For more entertainment, they’ll have two game booths for carnival games with prizes to be won. And there will also be a Pingu pop-up booth.

Bicester Lakeside Winter Market
If you’re looking for a spot of Christmas cheer to go with a shopping spree, head to Shanghai Village in Pudong. In addition to the 200+ fashion and lifestyle brands at Shanghai Village, there’s The Bicester Lakeside Winter Market, featuring 20 booths for food, drink, and lifestyle.
Food vendors include Papito Pancakes, Azabuya, Pirata, Grumpy Dog, Ali Lando, and more. The market runs daily until January 4 from 11am to 8pm. Free entry. The venue is also pet-friendly.

Common Rare | Off To Winter Island
Common Rare is back with their Christmas market, this time dubbed “Off To Winter Island.” It’ll be located at the newly restored historic building The Bund City Hall in Huangpu district from December 18 to 21.
The market will feature more than 350 independent brands for food, drink, coffee, prints, fashion, lifestyle, fashion, toys, and pet-friendly products. They’ll even have an exhibition (Sundae Kids and Unknown Garden), live performances, a pet zone and pet adoption area, and more. There’s also a pop-up kitchen where they’ll host Takoko (Cantonese tacos), chef 摩登可乐, and 普通小吃 who will serve mee goreng. Tickets start from ¥39 (Thursdays and Fridays), and early-bird weekend tickets are ¥59. Tickets at the door are ¥69. The venue is dog-friendly.
