Bifengtang is a popular Hong Kong-style Cantonese restaurant chain with more than 50 locations in China. It first opened in Shanghai in 1998 at 175 Changle Road, their flagship location that still operates to this day. Over the years, they’ve modernized the brand, both in food and ambience, a forward-moving change most noticeable at their 1 Dapu Lu location near Tianzifang.
Their success is built on a menu of dapaidang classics, wok-fried favorites, and dim sum, all accessibly priced. Their signature is the iconic Golden Garlic Crab, a dish on the menu since the beginning, one that has branched off other signatures under the “Golden Garlic” series.
