A franchise from Japan, Ieyasu Tsukemen & Izakaya is a long-running name with multiple locations in Shanghai. They offer nine different dipping sauces for their tsukemen, and use a rich base made with pork, chicken, and fish bones, intensified with bonito flakes. Their ramen broths, which use the same bases as their tsukemen, aren’t as refined as other ramen shops, but are delicious all the same, just more homestyle. They do a full menu of izakaya bites, including skewers, hot dishes, cold starters, sushi, and sashimi. The Hongqiao (Xingyi Road) location is the longest-standing and most popular, but the Mengzi Road one is just as good and has excellent service.
