Ikkou Izakaya (Gubei)

Ikkou Izakaya (一幸) is a casual Japanese restaurant with a broad menu ranging from sushi rolls to sukiyaki. There are actually multiple locations: Changning Lu, Xianxia Lu, and Dongjian Lu in Pudong. The Ronghua West Road location is a quiet spot tucked into the ground floor row of shops below a residential complex. Here, the space is compact: a single counter faces the sushi station, with a handful of cozy, private tatami rooms in the back. It’s not a typical rowdy izakaya, rather, it’s tidier and more subdued. The food is solid — fresh sashimi, gigantic sushi rolls, eel rice, skewers, sukiyaki, and grilled seafood.
