When The Nest opened in 2014, it was lauded as Shanghai’s first ever gastrolounge concept. At the time, it was one of the first venues in Shanghai to combine dining and cocktails in a chic and uber trendy space, an all-in-one with food, drink, and entertainment value. The food is Nordic-inspired, showing influence from Scandinavian cuisine, but the menu also features a broad spectrum of western dishes. It is famous for their Monday and Sunday deal, ¥98 for a dozen oysters, something they’ve carried on with since its opening. Good for entertaining on the Bund. These days, it has lost a bit of its glitz, but the space still looks pretty fancy and well kept.
