Cuivre is a long-standing French restaurant in Xuhui district, Shanghai, helmed by chef Michael Wendling. Chef Michael Wendling is one of Shanghai’s “old guard” chefs and has been cooking in the city for over 15 years. Since opening in 2011, Cuivre has received recognition from food critics and diners alike. The interiors have a rustic charm, featuring warm copper and elegant wooden accents with soft lighting that create a cozy yet refined atmosphere.

The menu focuses on classic French cuisine with a twist, and dishes are wholly comforting and hearty. Signatures include a tender duck confit, seasonal stews like beef bourguignon, the perennial favorite goat cheese salad, and luxurious truffle pastas and foie gras terrines. Cuivre also does some excellent gourmet burgers. It is a regular participating restaurant in Shanghai Burger Month.

Brunch is served on weekends. Pets are only allowed on the covered terrace.
