Eli Falafel is a Lebanese restaurant in Shanghai run by a Lebanese husband-and-wife team, known for its authentic, budget-friendly, and halal-friendly Levantine-Mediterranean cuisine. It is a popular choice for what is considered some of Shanghai’s best falafel, made from organic chickpeas and fava beans. The extensive menu caters to both vegan and carnivorous diets, featuring classic mezze like hummus, baba ganoush, and labneh, along with salads, grilled meat skewers, mixed grill platters, whole roasted fish, slow-cooked lamb atop fluffy rice, grilled chicken, and more. Their stuffed dolmas are my favorite. They also do a few brunchy dishes and pizzas. Shisha available.
