Nestled in Shanghai’s former French Concession, La Pomme de Terre is a charming day-to-night destination. The space, with its warm woods and open windows, is a sun-drenched spot for hearty brunch plates, pancakes, and burgers by day. Evenings bring a more intimate, candlelit mood and a menu of elegant dishes like truffle gnocchi and crackling pork belly, alongside Canadian-inspired dishes like Cajun-spiced seafood and Beavertails. It’s unpretentious and welcoming, and it’s dog-friendly.

This was such a delight. Staff and owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. The food was excellent especially the Tiramisu; we’ve travelled to Italy many times but this goes down as one of the best we’ve ever tried. A great spot, not to be missed. We will return next trip!
