The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund is all geared up for the festive season! Celebrate Christmas and New Year’s with a bountiful buffet spread, treat yourself to a luxurious staycation, and revel in the magic of the season at their Florentine Christmas Village.
Florentine Christmas Village (Nov 29 – Dec 25)
From November 29 to December 25, the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai will be hosting a Florentine Christmas Village at their second floor terrace. Bringing the sophistication of a Tuscan piazza to the Bund, this enchanting winter fairytale intertwines sparkling lights, melodic carols, and comforting aromas of the season all in one destination.
Food and drink booths will be represented by The Waldorf’s own army of chefs, serving winter warmers, season specials, festive foods, and dishes inspired by Italian cuisine. Feast on succulent roasted turkey, flavorful mozzarella-stuffed beef meatballs, cannolis, mortadella sandwiches, goat cheese and fig puffs. Quench your thirst with fragrant mulled wine, velvety cinnamon-spiced hot chocolate, glogg, and holiday-themed cocktails.
Explore booths by renowned brands such as T9, Nespresso, and Steiff, offering handcrafted treasures, premium holiday-themed gifts, and exclusive experiences.
In addition, scheduled entertainment will feature live music and festive performances — think Christmassy tunes belted out by professional vocalists, dancing troupes in elf costume, stilt walkers, swing dancing, and more. Of course, Santa will be present!
For kids, there’s the Christmas Tree Playground, a whimsical haven featuring slides and festive activities for the young ones to burn off their hot chocolate sugar rush. You can also visit the Elf House to pen a letter to Santa with the young ones.

Festive highlights extend beyond the Florentine Christmas Village, as The Waldorf Astoria’s dining outlets are all primed with celebratory menus and offers for Christmas and New Year. Note: all prices listed below are subject to service charge unless otherwise specified.
The Grand Brasserie Christmas & New Year’s Buffet
The Grand Brasserie will host lavish buffet spreads for Christmas and New Year’s.
The Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve buffet will be heaving fresh seafood, including freshly shucked oysters, as well as poached lobster, tuna and salmon sashimi, scallops, octopus, mussels, and abalone. The spread will also feature a salad bar, cheese and charcuterie, cold appetizers, salmon gravlax, and 5J Serrano ham. Hot dishes feature slow-braised oxtail, duck confit, honey and chestnut potato puree, and baked scallops.
There will also be a carving trolley loaded with roasted lamb rack and pumpkin polenta, tomahawk steak with truffle mash, herb-roasted turkey with sweet potato gratin, and honey glazed bone-in ham. The dessert station will also feature festive desserts of yule logs, cakes, chestnut Mont Blanc tarts, Christmas pudding, panettone, ginger bread, Christmas stolen, and more.
There will also be a semi-buffet lunch on Christmas Day also with fresh oysters and selected seafood on ice, a salad bar, cold appetizers, soup, and dessert. The semi-buffet includes one main course of choice.
New Year’s Day brunch will have a similar spread to Christmas with the addition of barbecue, among other courses.

Staycation Packages
Treat yourself to a staycation at The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai. Festive packages start from ¥2,577 a night; applicable from now until December 25, except for Mondays and Tuesdays. The ¥2,972 package includes a one-night stay in a Deluxe River View King Room and breakfast for two, plus two entry tickets to the Florentine Christmas Village. Prices here are listed as net.
Festive Steiff Afternoon Tea
Salon De Ville and Peacock Alley will be serving a Christmas afternoon tea from now until December 25. The Steiff Afternoon Tea set is served from 2pm to 6pm, and is ¥988 for two to share during weekdays and ¥1,088 on weekends. The set includes beef consommé, five savory bites, seven sweets, scones, mulled wine, and coffee or tea for two.
Peacock Alley also has Christmas Hampers available from now until December 25, priced at ¥888 or ¥1,588 net. Hampers include panettone, red velvet chocolate almond cookies, ginger cookies, macaroons, Santa chocolate, fruit cake, essential oils, T9 tea box, and Larios Gin. Add ¥380 and get a bottle of Maker’s Mark whisky with the hamper.
Also available from now until December 26 is the traditional Saint-Honoré cake, priced at ¥498 (650g) and ¥128 (90g).
PINK Oyster
PINK Oyster is serving a Christmas set from December 21 to 25. The multi-course oyster-centric set is ¥1,388 per person.
The Long Bar
Meanwhile, The Long Bar will be serving a Christmas cocktails and snacks from December 23 to 25, drinks and packages starting from ¥138.
The Long Bar will also host a New Year’s Eve countdown party. It is ¥1,288 per person and includes free-flow champagne, house wine, ten classic cocktails, and two oysters. Packages for 6 to 8 people starting from ¥3,888.
Wai King Kok
Wai King Kok has a set menu available for lunch and dinner from December 23 to January 1. The nine-course Cantonese menu is ¥888 per person, featuring dishes like steamed baby lobster, tiger grouper, and stewed beef brisket. On New Year’s Day, Wai King Kok has a dim sum brunch set menu for ¥398 per person.
