It doesn’t get much funkier than Shaoxing cuisine. It doesn’t get much funkier than Shaoxing cuisine. I tried the infamous Thousand Layer Tofu, which was 100x stinkier than your usual fermented tofu. (I barely survived.)

Thankfully, Shaoxing cuisine offers more than just chou dou fu. Totally recommend the Braised Pork and the addictive Drunken Crab at Yue Ji. A wild and delicious ride!
