The Space

Terrakota boasts a gorgeous space with a stunning open layout. The spacious dining room is set in a double-heighted glass house with a vaulted roof that can be fully retracted, transforming it into an al fresco dining room. It’s a gem of a locale, awash with natural light. There is also a private room for up to 10, perfect for families and groups.

The menu at Terrakota takes inspiration from the regions surrounding the Atlantic Sea, combining Mediterranean cuisine with Spanish influence, featuring plenty of seafood.

Terrakota has a brunch sharing menu for ¥228 per person, minimum two people to share. It’s a great value deal for brunch, a set of seven dishes including dessert.

The highlights are the Clam Pasta and Basque Steak. Though, I do implore you to add get the foie gras focaccia for an additional ¥88. Honestly, once you see it / try it, you’ll know why — its a slice of fluffy focaccia topped with thick cubes of foie, stracciatella cheese, jamon, soft boiled egg, and a heady, rich jus.

Crackers and Cream Cheese Dip — Old-school Chinese biscuits served with a cream cheese and hummus dip. A simple and snacky starter.

5J Lomo Tomato Tart — A one-bite appetizer of fresh tomato purée spiked with paprika topped with savory 5J lomo ham. It’s like a tomato gravy boat, savory yet fresh.

Zucchini Chickpea Salad — Roll-ups of zucchini with apples and spice-coated chickpeas.

The next course is either Baby Eels with Fried Eggs or Foie Gras Focaccia (supplement ¥88). Baby eels are a Spanish delicacy that are delicate in flavor and mouthfeel. Lightly sautéed, they’re dusted with a house spice mix and served over a fried, runny egg. Though, I highly recommend getting the foie gras focaccia — this thing is delicious! It’s a thick, toast slice of focaccia with a jammy combination of soft-boiled egg and straciatella cheese with cubes of rich foie and jamon, topped with an irresistible sauce.

Next is a Clam Pasta, pasta tossed in a sauce of seafood stock and cream with clams. It has an addictive quality, mostly due to the heady seafood sauce, which coats the palate with fresh, naturally sweet, and salty sea flavors.

Basque Steak Cubes — An easy dish to love. Tender cubes of steak grilled to medium with grilled leeks and roasted garlic.

I was hesitant when I first read “Strawberry Pizza” on the menu, but boy, did this surprise! It’s a puff pastry in the shape of a pizza, crusted with shaved almonds and topped with sliced strawberries and a scoop of fresh strawberry sorbet. Flaky, buttery, tart and not too sweet.

Portion-wise, the set is plenty, but should you want for more, there’s also a la carte dishes.

A La Carte Dishes

A la carte options available, including some signatures from the dinner menu like the Fig & Foie Gras, Fried Linglong Tomatoes, and Octopus “Meloso” Rice. I do recommend the Fish Sausage with Truffle Potato Foam, a brunch-only main course of house-made fish sausage.

For Drinks & Free-Flow

As for drinks, Terrakota has cocktails and wines by the glass starting from ¥68. They also have quite a few mocktails — I recommend the KOL.

There’s also a kids menu for ¥88, which includes one main (bolognese pasta, grilled wings with mash, grilled halibut with fries, etc), one scoop of ice cream, and a freshly squeezed orange juice.
