Taian Table Shanghai

Category

Taian Table is a Michelin three-star restaurant in Shanghai, founded in 2016 by renowned chef Stefan Stiller. The dining experience includes an 8-course “core menu” starting at ¥2,588, with additional dishes of classic signatures and specials. The cuisine blends Western techniques with Pan-Asian flavors, featuring ingredients like dashi, miso, and garam masala.

Stiller, a prominent figure in the culinary world and President of Bocuse d’Or Asia, has created a unique dining experience where guests sit around an open kitchen, enjoying a front-row view of high-caliber culinary artistry. Executive Chef Christiaan Stoop joined the team in late 2022, enhancing the restaurant’s innovative approach.

Since opening, Taian Table has introduced more than 40 different menus, which changes every 6-8 weeks, and even published a recipe book showcasing its culinary achievements.

An all-German wine pairing is available, starting from ¥1,515; wines by the glass from ¥200. The restaurant has maintained its three-star status since the Michelin Guide Shanghai 2022. Taian Table also has a location in Guangzhou, two stars.

It is my top choice for a Michelin-starred dining experience in Shanghai.
