The Space
As dusk falls over Shanghai, Terrace 8 emerges as the city’s premier sundowner spot. Eight floors above Jing’an at The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai, this scenic oasis comes alive during the golden hour. Plush loungers become coveted perches for a view of the sunset — perfect for winding down after work or gatherings with bubbly in hand.
The pièce de résistance? An unobstructed 180-degree panorama where the historic Shanghai Exhibition Center plays foreground to a stunning cityscape.

On Fridays and Saturdays, expect a laidback lounge vibe with resident DJ Nikki spinning dreamy, shoegaze-inspired sets — the perfect soundtrack for sundowners and soirées from 6pm to 10pm.
Food & Drink
This terrace season, they’re upping the ante with an exclusive free-flow of Nyetimber sparkling wine and ice-cold beers paired with sizzling barbecue. Nothing says summer like bubbles and grill marks.
The globally-inspired food menu features Mediterranean mezze and items from the grill. Expect creamy hummus, smoky baba ganoush, and crisp bruschetta, as well as skewers of juicy lamb kofta, Thüringen sausages, and smash burger sliders.
More substantial plates like grilled pork neck and Australian sirloin satisfy heartier cravings. There’s also a small kid’s menu, serving chicken nuggets, spaghetti bolognese, and hotdogs.
For libations, Terrace 8 has teamed up with Nyetimber, a premium English sparkling wine brand, for new bubbly on the drinks list, starting from ¥238/glass, ¥1,180/bottle. Other wines available from ¥108/glass, ¥468/bottle. In addition, there are “T9 Infused Aperitifs,” easy-sipping cocktails and crafted mocktails from ¥88.
