Mr & Mrs Bund reopened after a quick refurb and an overhaul of their menu. What’s new is an impressive looking seafood bar stocked with king crabs and other pricey crustaceans, big trays of grilled meats, and rockin’ desserts.

What’s New at Mr & Mrs Bund

So MMB apparently changed 70% of the menu, keeping about 20 signatures—short rib, salmon essential, truffle bread, French onion soup, French toast, prawns in a jar, cod in the bag, lemon tart, etc.—and added new dishes of premium steaks and seafood fired on the grill, and seafood towers.

And they put in a new seafood bar the highlight the stuff.

Seafood towers start at ¥588 and go up to ¥12,088, for the platter named “The Jedi of The Galaxy.” The latter is aptly priced for what’s included, which is 24 large oysters, 24 small oysters, whelks, scallops, jumbo tiger prawns, two whole Boston lobster, one two-kilo Russian king crab, one-kilo langoustine and 100 grams of caviar.

Opulence is celebrated on the Bund. There are those who want to make a splash are looking for those things. If you’re looking to indulge moderately, The Bund Tower (¥588) should sate your appetite.

What’s On The Menu

At the heart of the menu are grilled meats and seafood. I’m talking Boston lobster, steaks from 100g sirloins to 1.2kg porterhouses, whole chickens, lamb, pork chops, and prawns so big you’d mistake them for lobsters.

Those are available as a la carte or as big plates like the Mixed Surf & Turf (¥3,300), which enough for 4-5 people just on its own.

You can even get a single order of grilled foie gras if your gout is manageable. Of course, there are lighter options like the house tins and the table-side Caesar salad, and a la carte dishes. All prices subject to 10% service charge.

In Summary

It’s luxurious and impressive. It’s good for large groups looking to glam it up on the Bund. I’m more of a Mr & Mrs Bund traditionalist and therefore lean towards the soup, vol au vent, and Singaporean Seafood Pepper, but I can appreciate the quality and theater of the seafood towers and grill platters.
