Ultraviolet has the honor of being the only three-star restaurant on the list this year. The multi-sensory immersive dining experiential restaurant also ranks 24th on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018.
T’ang Court, the only Michelin three-star restaurant in the inaugural year of the list, moved down to two stars.
Xin Rong Ji has excelled to receive two stars for its Nanyang branch.
There are five new Michelin one-star restaurants this year, including Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire, a substantial upgrade from the Michelin Plate it received last year. Joining Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire are Amazing Chinese Cuisine, il Ristorante – Niko Romito, Ji Pin Court, and Moose.
Both Jin Xuan and Kanpai Classic lost their stars from last year’s list and were not included in the 2019 guide.
This year’s guide sees a total of 34 Michelin starred restaurants in Shanghai.
