Multi-concept restaurant and bar OSP joins forces with Singaporean Chef Joey Cheong (UMAAMI) to revamp its gastrolounge food offerings. Savor by OSP, the lounge section of the space, now serving comforting Southeast Asian bites to go with cocktails.

When OSP opened late last year, the food menu was upmarket Mediterranean bites refined with fine dining technique. Now it’s polished Southeast Asian/Singaporean food. Some dishes are creative, others are classic with modern plating, while some stretch the imagination like the century egg cheesecake. I’ve been told the latter is rather enjoyable.

Overall, the food is comforting and fulfilling, and it won’t break the bank. I wouldn’t say the food concept exactly matches the space and vibe, but its tasty stuff and worth trying. No changes on the cocktails, which are very tasty tipples from Hope & Sesame. More on drinks here.

Nonya Kuih Pie Ti (¥52/four) – Inspired by the Peranakan snack of the same name. A lightly spiced purée piped into pani puri and topped with shrimp.

Salted Egg Sauce Fried Chicken (¥68) – If you like salted egg, this will be right up your alley. Enjoyable, but a spritz of kalamansi would heighten the experience.

Curry Croquettes aka Kari Pok (¥40/two) – Single-bite croquettes filled with creamy curried pork.

Indian-Style Lamb Shank Soup (¥108) – A comforting broth rich with spices and herbs and bone-tender lamb shank. Highly recommended.

Cereal Prawns (¥60/three) – It’s a classic dish that’s nostalgic for the Singaporean/Malaysian diaspora. Three jumbo prawns coated in (has to be Nestum) cereal. Milky oats with a hint of spice and fragrant curry leaves.

Beef Short Rib Rendang with Roti Jala (¥168) – A sweeter rendition of rendang in my opinion, served with an egg-based lattice pancake rarely seen outside of SG/MY.

Coffee Pork Rib (¥68) – Ribs coated in a thick glaze that looks like it came out from the tar pits in Jurassic Park. Undertones of coffee, sticky sweet, a hum of spice, and meat with a bite. Delish!

Seafood Laksa (¥108) – Katong-style laksa with thick vermicelli noodles, bean sprouts, tofu, egg, and seafood. It’s enjoyable, but not my favorite version of laksa.
