From the group behind Atelier and Taste Buds comes Atelier Izakaya, a Japanese restaurant serving yakitori and drinks in a lively, chic space in Jing’an.
From the tail end of 2020, here are some new restaurants in Shanghai. Chihuahua for Mexican food, Hundo for yakitori & yakiniku, and wine bistro Mavis.
Xiao’s Izakaya is a quirky Japanese restaurant in Shanghai’s Gubei district that serves skewers, sashimi and izakaya staples until late. Highballs for ¥40.
High Yaki is a Japanese restaurant in Shanghai that does yakitori, yakiniku, and dry-aged beef. It is fantastic and should be high on your to-eat list.
Ramen Mitsuyoshi (满吉拉面) is a small shop that does excellent, traditional ramen which just opened not too far from Madang Road metro station. It’s a tiny space, seating diners around a bar counter facing the open kitchen.
